Top 5 Show-Stopping Moments At The 2023 VMAs

The 2023 VMAs went down last night in Newark, NJ and HOT 97 was there to catch all the action. Hosted by Nicki Minaj, the night was full of excitement including an homage to Diddy, an electrifying performance from Megan Thee Stallion and Cardi B, a hip-hop 50 tribute, a new song from Nicki Minaj and so much more. We are recapping the top 5 moments of the night.

Diddy received the 2023 Global Icon Award presented by his longtime friend/contributor Mary J. Blige. He also graced the stage and performed some of his biggest hits. His son, King Combs, Keyshia Cole, and Yung Miami joined on stage. As well as his twin daughters, and his daughter Chance.

The show ended with a unifying performance from Hip-Hop heavyweights including Grandmaster Flash, Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne and LL Cool J as they closed the show for with a tribute to 50 years of Hip-Hop.

Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion hit the stage for the first time to perform their lastest single “Bongos.” Cardi’s hubby Offset watched from the crowd as he cheered on his wifey. Megan Thee Stallion also had a moment with Justin Timberlake backstage at the awards.
