Tory Lanez’s legal team has made a bold move in their ongoing effort to clear his name. On Wednesday, May 29th, they dropped a wave of previously unseen audio and video footage from the night Megan Thee Stallion was shot in 2020, along with a 35-page presentation they say proves the rapper’s innocence.
The materials were released to the public through a new website, 36hourslater.com, which the team says was created to provide full transparency. According to them, key evidence was overlooked during the trial that led to Tory’s 10-year prison sentence.
One major piece of this newly shared evidence centers around testimony from the only independent eyewitness. That individual allegedly told authorities they saw “the girls fighting” and insisted it was “a girl” who fired the g*n, not a man.
Tory Lanez has maintained his innocence since the beginning of the case, despite being convicted in December 2022 on three felony charges related to the shooting. His attorneys now claim this new compilation of footage, audio, and expert analysis challenges the prosecution’s version of events.
They also argue that the timeline and physical evidence don’t support the conviction. Tory’s team hopes this public release will not only shift public opinion but also reignite legal efforts to appeal the verdict.
The case has been one of the most high-profile legal battles in hip hop, drawing massive attention and sparking intense debates on social media. With this new round of evidence out in the open, the court of public opinion is once again weighing in.
