Travis Scott is facing legal action from a man who claims he was assaulted by one of the rapper’s security guards, but Scott’s team is calling the lawsuit a baseless attempt to hold him accountable for something he wasn’t involved in.
Omar Muhanna, the plaintiff in the case, alleges that on August 17th, 2024, in Manhattan, a security guard working for Travis physically attacked him without provocation. According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Muhanna says the incident left him with lasting injuries.
That same day, Travis was in town for Fanatics Fest at the Javits Center, though the alleged altercation reportedly occurred several blocks away. A spokesperson for Travis denies the rapper had any involvement, stating he was inside a restaurant while the incident happened outside.
The lawsuit doesn’t accuse Travis of direct involvement but claims he is responsible for hiring a security company that employed the guard. Muhanna argues that the individual had a history of aggressive behavior and should never have been hired.
Scott’s camp has strongly denied any wrongdoing, calling the lawsuit “frivolous” and pushing back against the allegations. They argue that Travis had no direct involvement in the incident and should not be held responsible for the actions of an independent security guard. Muhanna, however, insists that the rapper is liable for hiring someone with a history of aggressive behavior. He is now seeking damages for the injuries he claims to have sustained.
