Trey Songz has reportedly turned himself in for allegedly punching two people at a bowling alley in New York City.
According to TMZ, the “Say Aah” hitmaker was busted by police at the end of November after being accused of punching a man and a woman while they were all at the bowling alley back in October. The woman was reportedly punched in the face in the bathroom — leaving her hospitalized. The second victim claimed Trey Songz punched him in the eye. The publication was told that he refused medical treatment. The motive behind the incident has yet to be identified.
The 38-year-old turned himself into a New York Police Department weeks after the assault. He was booked, given a desk appearance ticket, and then released.
Trey Songz’s attorney claims that the singer “will be fully cleared of any wrong doing.” “We have been proactively communicating with NY law enforcement, the DA, and all those involved. While we will respectfully and proactively work through all the appropriate channels we are confident that Trey will be fully cleared of any wrong doing,” Mitch Schuster told TMZ.
Last month, Trey Songz had a sexual assault lawsuit against him dismissed after legal documents proved that the statute of limitations was expired on the allegations. In February of this year, a woman claimed that the singer forced her to have anal sex without her consent at a house party in Los Angeles, California in 2016.
During the time of the alleged assault, which was before Jan. 1, 2019, the statute of limitations in California to file a civil claim for sexual assault if the victim is over 18 was two years. The alleged victim filed the complaint six years after the alleged rape and was suing the “Can’t Be Friends” singer for $20 million.
