Tyler Perry addresses criticism following his new film “Divorce in the Black.”

While on Keke Palmer’s Baby, This Is Keke Palmer podcast, Keke asked Perry if he seen actor and filmmaker Justin Simien’s past critiques of him.

“Great, have your opinion… I live from this seat tempered, measured, patient, prayerful, and disciplined… I’m always disciplined about everything. I step back, I count, I watch, I see which way I need to move; I don’t rush into comments.”

He continued: “you got to drown all of that out. If you let somebody talk you out of a place that God has put you in, you are going to find yourself in hell. I know for a fact that what I’m doing is exactly what I’m supposed to be doing, because for every critic, I have thousands of emails from people saying, ‘This [movie] changed my life.’”

“Who are you to be able to say which Black story is important or should be told? Get out of here with that bull****.”

Cory Hardrict On Criticism:

We previously reported that Divorce in the Black star Cory Hardrict responds to the critics as well.

TMZ caught up with actor and asked about the film’s success. “Yeah, listen, I’m in Mr. Tyler Perry’s Divorce in the Black. It’s the number one movie in the world. I’m excited, man,” he said of the movie. “Number one movie in the world right now! Listen, I’m excited.”

When asked about Rotten Tomatoes 0% rating, Hardrict says, “I don’t know nothing about it,” he said. “I didn’t see that. I mean, the people love the movie and we do it for the people–that’s who I do it for. If the culture’s rocking with it, it’s all love. Shoutout Mr. Perry, I love Mr. Perry, though. That’s my guy.”

He goes on to say, “everyone has an opinion, and they’re entitled to it.”He continued, “so it’s fine. But as long as the people see it, my neighborhood see it, South Side, Chicago, L.A. see it, everybody see it, then I’m happy, it’s all love.”
