Usher Addresses Super Bowl Performance W/ Alicia Keys, Says He Meant ‘No Disrespect To Anybody’

Usher says he meant no harm following his Super Bowl halftime performance.

We previously reported that fans felt like Usher may have crossed some boundaries while performing his song “My Boo” with Alicia Keys.

During a recent interview, Usher makes it clear that “in no way should anything done there be viewed as bad or perverted or anything like that. It was literally about having fun because of a song that me and Alicia made many years ago. And we celebrated because of the legacy of it. And no disrespect to anybody or anything like that.”

He also mentioned that he and Swizz Beats, Alicia’s husband, had a conversation following the performance. “We laughed about it. It’s crazy how people [focused on] that. It’s all about how you present things, man. But it’s all love.”

Despite the online chatter- Swizz Beatz says fans are focused on the wrong things during the performance. He previously wrote via Instagram, “y’all talking about the wrong damn thing !!! y’all don’t see that amazing   dress covering the entire stadium Tonight’s performance was nothing but amazing with 2 amazing Giants ! Congrats @usher and my love  @aliciakeys  that song is a classic We don’t do negative vibes on this side  we make history  Go see GIANTS at @brooklynmuseum it’s open until July blessings….”
