Usher is taking a well-deserved break to prepare for his eagerly awaited Past Present Future Tour; but not without ruffling a few feathers.

On Wednesday (August 14), the ‘Yeah!’ crooner took to Instagram to announce he’s hitting pause on his tour opener, giving himself some much-needed R&R before the big kick-off.

“For my 30-plus year career, 100% of my blood, sweat and tears has gone into putting on the best performance and creating a memorable experience for my fans,” Usher’s Instagram post begins.

He added: You’re still going to get a bit of the past, some of the present and a unique look into the future on the rescheduled date but you’ll also be getting 100% of me. The last thing I want to ever do is disappoint you, the fans who have been eagerly waiting for this tour to start.”

“However, I wouldn’t be the entertainer that I am if I can’t physically give you my best,” his message continues. “My team will be sharing news of the rescheduled date soon. I can’t wait to celebrate this legacy with you.”

The announcement sparked mixed reactions, with fans split on the news.

“I drove hrs to see you tonight, all the rehearsal you been posting and what not and now today you postponed the opening day?! This is crazy!!!! You had since February to get it together. I’m upset and very at that 😡😡😡😡you knew this since last night, I bet you do the concert on Friday and Saturday tho,” wrote one user.

“Flight just landed in Atlanta. So disappointed. But health comes first 🙏🏾,” another user responded empathizing with the situation.

A third user sent well wishes writing: “Good looking out for you! Cant be the best if you’re not feeling the best! 🙌”

On the flip side. Usher’s Friday (August 16), and Saturday’s (August 17) shows at Atlanta’s State Farm Arena are still on! According to his official website, the tour will keep the party going through May 2025, with stops in major cities like Boston, Chicago, Toronto, Paris, Berlin, and London.
