Wale and Azealia Banks have reignited their long-standing feud with a fiery exchange on social media. It all started on Wednesday, April 2nd, when Wale shared his thoughts on his career’s consistency, tweeting: “I’m not sellin my soul. I’m not playin them other games either .. ain’t no ‘era’ I ain’t never stopped… hope this helps wit the nostalgia bait.”
Banks wasted no time clapping back, taking shots at his artistry. “N***a the only hot song you ever made is ‘ridin in that black joint.’ It’s no shade,” she wrote. “But ur rap swag and delivery and persona got something off in a very generic type of way. It’s highkey cause u African no shade. U shoulda been African T-pain.”
Wale laughed it off, responding with a plug for a festival lineup featuring himself and T-Pain. “Ngl … the chicken butcher lady sayin my only hit is off a video game I never played before is funny af… I don’t even think that song is on dsp. We Stan.”
Banks then doubled down, bringing up an old claim about Wale’s supposed “period panty fetish” and questioning his musical identity in his career. Wale responded with sarcasm, calling out her tendency to critique others. “My favorite thing on this app is you tellin everybody what they should be doing…life is hard af and yet you find time to tell everybody everywhere all the time how to do things … you are way too kind to us.”
The exchange quickly spiraled; meanwhile, Banks hurled more insults while Wale dismissed her critiques. Their rivalry stretches back nearly a decade, showing that some grudges never fade.
