Where Are The Juneteenth Events This Weekend?

Originating in Galveston, Texas in 1865, Juneteenth is an annual commemoration of the emancipation of enslaved African Americans.

Last year, President Biden signed legislation that made Juneteenth which falls on June 19th, a federal holiday. Since then, there have been an increase in celebrations across the nation. It is a day or weekend full of celebrations that include, picnics, speakers, panels, and family gatherings.
