On Friday, two men were killed and two others were injured as gun fire erupted outside of a Meek Mill concert in Wallingford, Connecticut. Police have not yet released the named of the four victims, but the family of on of the men killed in the shooting identified him as 31-year-old Travis Ward, NBC Connecticut reported. The two people injured in the shooting were taken to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.

As of now there hasn’t been anyone taken into custody following the incident that took place Friday night in a parking lot near the Oakdale Theatre. Investigators believe the suspect was involved in a hit-and-run accident while fleeing the scene following the shooting.

According to the Record-Journal, Meek Mill had just finished his performance when the shooting occurred. Video from the time of the incident, approximately 11:12 p.m., showed the rapper exiting the venue just as gunshots rang out. Security guards working the event immediately told bystanders to take cover.

Wallingford Police Lt. Cheryl Bradley described the scene as “chaotic” when police arrived to the Oakdale.

“We received a 911 call from an employee at the Oakdale Theatre. The caller reported that he was outside of the Oakdale with a victim who was shot in the leg. Our units responding determined that there were actually four victims, two with non-life-threatening injuries, two victims determined to be deceased,” Bradley told reporters late Friday night.

“Everything occurred outside of the Oakdale, it appeared to be near closing, the closing of the event … At this time, we are looking into possible leads, suspect vehicles, descriptions.”

Meek has commented since the shooting and denies that anyone was shot or even killed. He took to social media to say that it’s a “lie” and people are “jealous.” He said:

“They really trying to slow these bags up,” he says in the clip. “Looking at this shit … two people died, two people got shot … it’s a lie. Someone hatin’ trying to slow these bags up, ’cause we scoopin’ up 250s.”
