Biopics are all the rage, ever since the success of 2015’s Straight Outta Compton. Following BET’s recent success with The New Edition Story, today they’ve announced that they have picked up a series based on the life of none other than Nas!
Street Dreams is an hour-long series, and it will be set in the early 1990s. Per Deadline:
“[Street Dreams] tracks the ascent of Nas, a young man from the Queensbridge projects who will go on to become a famous rapper, as he evolves from young man to crack dealer to rapper to adult.”
The pilot episode will be written and directed by Jonathan Levine, while producer Jamie Patricof will likely co-executive produce along with Nas, his manager Anthony Saleh and Lynette Howell.
