Dave East was a breakout success in 2016, landing the XXL Freshman cover, touring all over the country, charting his Kairi Chanel mixtape and most notably, signing a record deal with Def Jam. Now he will be doing even bigger things n 2017. The rapper will stepping on to the acting scene.

The Harlem rapper will appear on the season premiere of BET’s Being Mary Jane. In a preview of the cameo, Dave can be seen playing himself, performing on a show and then being interviewed by Gabrielle Union’s character. Gaby has previously stated in interviews that she’s a fan of East’s music, so it wouldn’t be surprising if his appearance was a personal request from the star herself!
