#BREAKING: Former Patriots TE Aaron Hernandez Found Dead In Jail Cell

Aaron Hernandez, former tight end for the New England Patriots has committed suicide in prison according to reports. 

According to the Boston Globe:

According to a statement for the Department of Correction, the former New England Patriot star was discovered hanging in his cell at the Souza Baranowski Correctional Center in Shirley Massachusetts at approyximately 3:05 a.m

“Mr. Hernandez was in a single cell in a general population unit,” the statement said. “Mr. Hernandez hanged himself utilizing a bedsheet that he attached to his cell window. Mr. Hernandez also attempted to block his door from the inside by jamming the door with various items.”

Hernandez was just seen as not guilty by a jury during his last trial for a double murder he was accused of being in.

The former NFL player was still serving a life sentence for the murder of Odin Lloyd in 2013.

He was drafted in the 4th round of the 2010 draft by the Patriots. Hernandez had a total of 175 receptions, 1956 yards, and 18 touchdowns in his career. He also played in the Super Bowl XLVI loss to the Giants in 2011
