Carmen Perez passed through to give a run through of a very important case in New York City.
17-year-old Pedro Hernandez spent a year in Rikers Island for allegedly shooting a victim. The problem is there are multiple witnesses including the victim which said that he was not the suspect.
This case may have ruined his life as he was an honor student awaiting to attend college on a full scholarship. With help from reports and the Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Organization his original bail of $250,000 was reduced by more than half.
He was receiving pressue to accept a guilty plea to be released on probation for five years, but denied that opportunity to prove his innocence.
There is a rally for Pedro Hernandez in the Bronx on August 10.
