Rain drops… Drop top… Donald Glover boosted Migos’ sales a lot lot.

Donald Glover’s shout out to Migos during his acceptance speech at the Golden Globes on Sunday is the kind of priceless promo you could never plan – and it’s helping the trio in a MAJOR way. Their current single, “Bad & Boujee,” was already doing well before Glover name-dropped it in front of 20 million viewers on Sunday night’s telecast, but it has now grown exponentially since then.

Here’s the breakdown, per Billboard:

  • 2.4 million views for the video on YouTube on Sunday; 1.2 million on Monday
  • 243{52c2b9fb7f6aa0736ded2304e74d79e31e70c85fb70a6b545c464e9a6c8f3457} increase on Spotify between 7 and 9 a.m. ET on Monday
  • A spike from about 2,500 views per hour to 4,500 views per hour for the lyrics on Genius.com

And that’s not all! The song has officially hit number one on the Billboard Hot 100, making for the first number one song for not only Migos, but also for the song’s featured artist, Lil Uzi Vert. This comes just weeks after Rae Sremmurd and Gucci Mane got their first number one with “Black Beatles,” and I think it’s great to see the youngins’ (and La Flare!) getting their shine on.

Migos’ new album, CULTURE, arrives January 27.
