Last night (Apr 13), the world learned that comedian Charlie Murphy had passed away after a battle with leukemia.
Since the news broke, tons of fans, friends, and family reacted by paying homage with their favorite moments online.
His younger brother, Eddie Murphy had not said a word on the passing until today where he sent a statement through Entertainment Weekly.
“Our hearts are heavy with the loss today of our son, brother, father, uncle, and friend Charlie,” he said. “Charlie filled our family with love and laughter, and there won’t be a day that goes by that his presence will not be missed. Thank you for the outpouring of condolences and prayers. We respectfully ask for privacy during this time of great loss for all of us.”
Eddie’s ex-wife Nicole Murphy also joined in with a message of her own on Instagram.
