It’s been known that movie houses are hesitant with putting someone of color as their lead (let’s not front like this isn’t true). It’s been a stigma in the movie industry for decades now.
But when you put four strong beautiful women of color together as the stars and they smash the box office sales? That’s a much needed wake up call for the naysayers.
The hilarious film “Girl’s Trip” starring Queen Latifah, Jada Pinkett Smith, Regina Hall and Tiffany Haddish just surpassed the $100 million mark at the domestic box office, making it Universal Pictures’ sixth film to do so this year.
I love me a great chick flick! Can we say girlpower?!
