January 20th was National DJ day but all week long, we’ll be paying homage to the DJ culture by featuring some of today and past legendary DJs. They’ll be breaking the art of being a disc jockey, how it all began, the difference between the past and present while showing off some of their turntable skills.
Here’s the first special featuring two legendary DJs who’ve made a mark and left an imprint of the lives of those trying to do what they do: Funk Flex & Kool DJ Red Alert. The two icons discuss what got them into DJing and how they were able to bridge the gap between radio and the culture:
