It is deja vu from Steve Harvey’s big mistake at the Miss Universe pageant.
Last night’s Oscars was supposed to bring one film the biggest moment of the night when the biggest prize of the night “best picture” was named.
Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway who were co-stars in the film Bonnie and Clyde went up to the stage to bring that special moment.
Beatty named La La Land the winner! The cast and staff behind the film began moving up to the stage in celebration and soak in this special moment.
Except on thing….they didn’t win.
He has received the wrong envelope, and the real winner was actually Moonlight.
“I opened the envelope and it said ‘Emma Stone, La La Land.’ That’s why I took such a long look at Faye, and at you. I wasn’t trying to be funny,” Beatty said to the media after the mistake.
Host Jimmy Kimmel tried to save the moment as he ran onto the stage with the words, “Warren, what did you do?!”
For what it’s worth, Harvey is offering his help to Beatty.
Call me Warren Beatty. I can help you get through this! #Oscars
