Here we go…

Yesterday (Apr 10), a video went viral showing law enforcement officials drag a man off a United airlines plane after they overbooked it.

The man goes by the name of Dr. David Dao, and he practices medicine in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. According to reports, he went to medical school in Vietnam in the 1970’s before he moved to the United States to begin work as a pulmonologist.

He was arrested in 2003 and convicted of six felony counts of obtaining drugs by fraud and deceit in 2004 for allegedly filling out fraudulent prescriptions of hydocodone, Oxycontin and Percocet.

According to TMZ:

In medical board documents … Dao denied paying for sex, but indicated he accepted sexual favors from an associate in exchange for reducing a debt that associate owed him.

In February, 2005, Dr. Dao surrendered his license to practice medicine in Kentucky. In 2015 the medical board lifted the suspension and allowed him to practice medicine again. Last year, the medical board imposed restrictions on his right to practice. He can only practice internal medicine in an outpatient facility one day a week.

Apparently he’s also been very good in the World Series Of Poker winning over $234,664.

While it is interesting to get background on the man we knew nothing about yesterday, this laest news doesn’t justify any of United’s actions on Sunday.

We have yet to hear from Dao on the actions of that day.

Meanwhile, these United memes (which has lost about $800 million in market value) are hilarious. See some below.
