Retired NFL star, RandyMoss, 40, is returning to the field but not the field we are used to seeing him on. Moss will be taking his talents to the soccer field! Moss, pending United Soccer League (USL) and U.S. Soccer approval, will be taking the field alongside the USL’s Charlotte Independence on Saturday for the season opener.
“Renewing my career is something that I’ve thought about for a long time now,” said Moss. “I’m excited to get started with the Charlotte Independence and show the world that I can be a two-sport athlete.”
The former NFL wide receiver will be wearing the number 84 as the Charlotte Independence takes on the Charleston Battery.
“Our team stands to gain a lot by bringing in Randy,” said Independence Head Coach Mike Jeffries. “Obviously, he’s a proven winner and his athleticism is an attribute that translates to any sport he plays.”
