In recent years, including in Drake’s latest album More Life the artist has scored big hits with tracks that include a big dancehall influence.

With that, the dancehall community feels like he owes them some respect as he is using their sound for influence.

During an interview with Metro UK, legend Sean Paul called him out for not giving the culture the credit he’s felt it deserves.

“I think at the time when [‘One Dance’] was popping off, it would have been good for him to actually put accolades towards the whole culture,” he said. “He’s friendly with a few people in the business in Jamaica and that’s good, I love it. But if he had given more accolades when he was actually making it and said, ‘this is the music I love,’ it would have been cool.”

This is not the first time Sean Paul has made these claims, but one year after the major success of “One Dance,” it still has not been addressed by Drake.
