The Notorious B.I.G. is going to be honored in a BIG way!
He will be honored at the ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Awards posthumously with the Founders Award. Quincy Jones, Stevie Wonder and more were also recipients of the award in the past. His mother Voletta Wallace and widow Faith Evans are to accept the world on his behalf.
“Biggie was a legend in his own time and his legacy lives on through his music,” said ASCAP President Paul Williams. “Like all songwriters, he was a master storyteller, but it was the realism in his rhymes that captured so many.”
The ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Awards are June 22 at The Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Los Angeles.
