It is hard to believe that it is mid-October and Colin Kaepernick is still not with a team.

For months, there has been plenty of chatter that the NFL and its owners have come together to not sign the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback to a deal.

With Kaepernick still looking for a job, and others who have not had some of the success he has in the NFL actually getting signed, he decided to open up a lawsuit for collusion.

He has hired lawyer Mark Geragos to fight the case, which will be ground breaking and a tough battle overall. Kaepernick has seen teams such as the Baltimore Ravens, Tennessee Titans, Miami Dolphins and more go a different direction after big injuries to their starting quarterbacks. The closest he came to signing this year was when the Seattle Seahawks brought him in for a workout before the season began.

The move to a lawsuit comes as the topic of kneeling for the National Anthem has become a huge storyline in America the past two weeks after the President of the United States repeatedly commented on it, and bluntly said that players should stand for the anthem.

Geragos confirmed the news on his Twitter page.
