The Rock and Tyrese have been in an awkward beef in recent memory due to some disagreements following the former WWE star’s decision to make a spinoff of his Fast & Furious franchise character Luke Hobbs.
Following multiple social media tiraids against his co-star that went mostly unanswered, the man who’s real name is Dwayne Johnson sat down with Entertainment Weekly, and finally addressed Tyrese’s many comments.
“At the end of the day, the only thing I want to do is make a great movie for the fans,” Johnson explained. “I never ever get wrapped up in the sludge of the bullshit that can be connected at times to a franchise. So I never get dragged into it. I never respond to any of that.”
He later continued to reveal his intentions on the film.
“It’s been a challenging process,” he said. “Because I feel like my intention from day one, when I first joined the cast, was to hopefully come in, have fun, and create a character that people will hopefully like and try to elevate the franchise.”
No word on whether Tyrese will make true of this threats, but at least there’s a rumored Four Brothers sequel right?
Hobbs & Shaw is scheduled for release on 2019 followed by Fast & Furious 9 in 2020.
