‘CURLFEST’ Returns To Brooklyn For 10 Year Anniversary

The highly anticipated festival, CURLFEST, will return to Brooklyn in celebration of its 10 year anniversary.

The festival went down Brooklyn, NY (Prospect Park Bandshell) on August 17th.

Co-founder Simone Mair joined HOT 97’s Tai Marie and talked the legacy of the festival, how it all started, it’s 10th year anniversary. Mair also sent an inspirational message to young girls.

CURLFEST is known to be the “largest natural beauty festival in America. Created in 2014 by the Curly Girl Collective, 10 years later the festival is still 100% Black women owned and led. Originally starting with 1,000 guests, the festival has grown to amass over 75,000 attendees from around the world coming to celebrate their natural beauty.”

CURLFEST “is an empowering and uniquely magical experience where women and girls of every shade, shape, and size can come and be celebrated for who they are, unconditionally.”
