GloRilla has been tapped to headline the Honda Battle of the Bands (HBOB).
The highly anticipated event will take place on Feb. 1, 2025, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.
According to the press release, the Battle of the Bands is “the nation’s premier invitational showcase for HBCU marching bands.”
Additionally, Nick Cannon will host the event and feature performances by six HBCU bands.
Participating bands include Alabama A&M University – Marching Maroon & White, Alabama State University – Mighty Marching Hornets, Hampton University – The Marching Force, North Carolina A&T State University – Blue and Gold Marching Machine, Southern University – Human Jukebox, University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff – Marching Musical Machine of the Mid-South.
In a statement, GloRilla shared her excitement about the upcoming performance.
“I can’t wait to turn up the energy at the 2025 Honda Battle of the Bands Invitational Showcase with these dope HBCU marching bands,” said GloRilla. “This event is gonna be straight fire, showcasing the beauty and brilliance of Black culture.”

HBOB is part of the Honda “Drive the Legacy” initiative that expands the brand’s long commitment to HBCUs. For more than 35 years, Honda has supported HBCU institutions and programs that advance the Black community.” Honda has offered programming, scholarships, and numerous initiatives.
Along with the HBOB, the Honda Campus All-Star Challenge, has awarded $14 million in grants to more than 300,000 students.
