Justin Timberlake is reportedly set to address two decades of public scrutiny and personal challenges in a new four-part “tell-all” docuseries for Apple TV.
The series is directed by Fisher Stevens and aims to provide an unfiltered look at Timberlake’s life and career. According to sources familiar with the production, the documentary will dive deep into the “wardrobe malfunction” during Super Bowl XXXVIII, an event that led to Jackson being largely blacklisted from the music industry while Timberlake’s solo career continued to flourish.
Justin Timberlake Reportedly Planning Tell-All Docuseries:
Jackson is said to provide her own perspective on the incident and its long-term impact on her legacy. Beyond the Super Bowl controversy, the series reportedly addresses recent public comments made by Timberlake’s former girlfriend, Britney Spears. In her recent memoir and subsequent social media posts, Spears shared intimate details regarding their relationship in the early 2000s, prompting Timberlake to issue a public apology to both Spears and Jackson in 2021.
The docuseries arrives at a pivotal moment for the singer. Timberlake recently completed his “Forget Tomorrow” global tour in support of his 2024 album, “Everything I Thought It Was.” The tour was marked by personal and health struggles, including a highly publicized DWI conviction in Sag Harbor, N.Y., and a July 2025 announcement that he had been diagnosed with Lyme disease. Timberlake told fans in a social media post that the disease had been “relentlessly debilitating,” contributing to the fatigue and nerve damage some audiences observed during his international performances.
The new series is expected to provide context for these struggles as he attempts to reclaim his narrative following several years of tabloid headlines. Representatives for Timberlake, Jackson and Apple have not officially commented on the production.
However, Timberlake has a pre-existing relationship with the streaming service, having starred in the 2021 Apple Original film “Palmer.” The documentary is expected to be a cornerstone of the platform’s year-end programming.
