Producers have not confirmed how upcoming shows will proceed while Megan recovers. The production team has not announced whether an understudy or temporary replacement will step into the role.

“I’ve always believed in pushing myself creatively,” she said. “Theater is definitely a new opportunity that I’m excited to embrace.”

Megan also addressed her loyal fan base, known as the Hotties, promising they would witness a different side of her artistry.

“Broadway demands a different level of discipline, preparation and storytelling,” she explained. “But I’m up for the challenge and can’t wait for the Hotties to see a new side of me.”

Meanwhile, Moulin Rouge! The Musical will close July 26 after seven years on Broadway. By then, the production will have delivered 2,265 performances and 24 previews.
