Daphne Joy is speaking out after an alleged sex tape reportedly involving herself, hip-hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs and adult actor Sly Digger surfaced online and sparked widespread discussion across social media.
In a lengthy statement shared to her Instagram Story on Monday, June 1, the model and entrepreneur, who shares son Sire with hip-hop mogul 50 Cent, described the experience as deeply traumatic and alleged that she was recorded without her consent during a past relationship.
Although Joy did not identify anyone by name, she reflected on what she characterized as an emotionally damaging chapter of her life, claiming she ignored her own boundaries in an effort to please someone she loved.
“Everybody plays the fool sometime, and I have been the biggest fool,” she wrote. “I just wanted my man at the time to be happy and satisfied… I wanted to fulfill all his desires.. even if that meant breaking my own boundaries.”
Joy said she has since reevaluated the relationship and now views it differently.
“I deeply loved him.. and I believed he loved me too,” she continued. “It’s still so painful for me to process the harsh reality and truth of that relationship… I realize that it was far from love.”
Daphne Joy Addresses Sean “Diddy” Combs Sextape Leak With Since-Deleted Statement
A central claim in Joy’s statement involved the alleged recording itself. She asserted that she never consented to being filmed and later became the target of an extortion attempt.
“The recent leak was a tape I never consented to being filmed on,” Joy wrote, alleging that an individual demanded money in exchange for keeping the footage private.
According to Joy, the tape was later sold to a major media outlet. She claimed the company ultimately chose not to publish the material after determining it was connected to what she described as revenge porn and an extortion scheme.
“The media outlet called me one day and said they had the tape,” she recalled. “It was the first time I ever fainted in my life.”
Joy also described rewatching the footage after its recent circulation online, calling the experience “triggering and painful.” She said viewing the video forced her to confront what she described as years of emotional turmoil and abuse.
The statement concluded on a note of healing and self-discovery. “I am precious, I am special, I am worthy,” Joy wrote. “This is the first time that I have ever felt a part of my own body and that my body belongs to me.”
Her comments arrived amid viral attention surrounding the alleged video and after public reactions from 50 Cent. The mogul referenced the controversy in a series of social media posts over the weekend.
Rather than addressing 50’s remarks directly, Daphne Joy focused her statement on her personal experience. The allegations surrounding the recording and leak, and her ongoing journey toward recovery.
