Hours after authorities detained him during the execution of a search warrant tied to the ongoing investigation into the 2021 killing of rapper Drakeo the Ruler, YG walked onto the VERZUZ stage and addressed the crowd with characteristic confidence.
“I almost didn’t make it to this motherf***er,” YG told The Game, drawing a loud reaction from fans who had followed news of the earlier law enforcement operation.
The Game admitted the reports initially made him think the event might never happen.
“I saw the news on TMZ,” The Game said.
The comments capped a dramatic day for the West Coast rapper. Earlier Thursday, the California Highway Patrol executed a search warrant at a Burbank property connected to YG.
