NYMRAD and The International Radio and Television Society (IRTS) held its annual Multicultural Career Workshop on Friday, October 13th.  The event draws approximately 130 outstanding students and recent graduates who are pursuing careers in the broadcast industry. Find out more here.


Street Soldiers Town Hall Meeting: Hosted by Lisa Evers for HOT 97 & FOX 5. This panel will help strengthen the relationship between the community and the NYPD. Find out more here.




Softball Charity Game: The HOT 97, WBLS and WLIB family attended a charity softball game at Castle Hill little league in the Bronx. To learn more, check here!



Ed Sullivan Fellows Program:  Established in February 2016, the Ed Sullivan Fellows Program launched as a music production and industry mentorship program for young people at the Music Experience Design Lab at NYU. To learn more, check here!




Push 4 Peace 2017: In 2017, the 7th annual Push 4 Peace Town Hall event, a significant community meeting that has and continues to have very relevant and earnest dialogue about music, the community, and cultural issues, was a huge success! To learn more, check here!


Summer Jam (June):  Summer Jam is the biggest Hip Hop concert in the world!  Over 55,000 people come together at MetLife Stadium to join the biggest artists and celebrate Hip Hop.  A portion of the ticket sales go towards the Hip Hop Has Heart Foundation for community events throughout the year.


Kutz for Kids Babershop & Beauty Tour (August/September):  During the back to school season, Emmis New York partners with local barbershops and salons in the New York tri-state area to provide free haircuts for children ages 13 and under.  For more information, click here.


Spread the Warmth Coat Drive (November/December):  One of New York City’s largest and most cherished philanthropic traditions, the Spread the Warmth Coat Drive collects coats to be given out to homeless men, women, children and infants, the working poor, and at-risk senior citizens from partnering nonprofit agencies.  For more information & photos from previous years, click here.
Spread the Joy Holiday Toy Drive (November/December): Each year, HOT 97 teams up with an organization to collect new toys to be given out to children during the holiday season.  For more information & photos, click here.
Push 4 Peace:  Push 4 Peace was created in 2011 in Newark, New Jersey by HOT 97's Lisa Evers and her “Street Soldiers” team, and then Mayor Cory Booker, to promote alternatives to violence and gang involvement.  To learn more about the cause, and see photos from previous events, click here.
