Surviving R. Kelly continues, but this is REAL LIFE!
News sources report, three men have been charged for intimidating and threatening R. Kelly accusers. The Guardian reports federal prosecutors made the announcement today (August 12).
Michael Williams, 37, of Valdosta, Georgia, who prosecutors say is related to former R. Kelly publicist, is suspected of setting fire to a car in Florida. Prosecutors say he traveled to Florida in June and set fire to a parked SUV outside of the residence where an R. Kelly victim was staying.
Another long-time friend of the disgraced R&B singer, Donnell Russell, offered to pay a victim $500,000 to keep her from cooperating in the case. The third man, Richard Arline, Jr. was a manager and advisor of R. Kelly who threatened to release explicit photos of a victim who is suing R. Kelly.
The “I Believe I Can Fly” singer has been in a Chicago jail for over a year awaiting trial. R. Kelly is facing multiple charges in various cities. He faces federal charges related to the sexual abuse of minors in two separate cases in Chicago and Brooklyn. The charges vary from child pornography, sexual assault, abuse of a minor, racketeering, and obstruction of justice. A woman also claims he knowingly gave her herpes.
For over two decades, the “Bump n’ Grind” singer has faced sexual abuse allegations. In 2002, he was indicted on 13 counts of child pornography but was acquitted of all charges in 2008. In 2019 he was arrested on sex trafficking charges. His next trial date is Sept. 14.
