Big Boss: Keke Palmer Will Host 2020 MTV VMA Awards

Keke Palmer is a hot commodity! 

Last week it was reported Keke will join The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder reboot cast and now its being reported she will host the MTV VMA awards. 

Keke is the first Black host since 1986-87, when then-MTV-VJ Downtown Julie Brown co-hosted, Billboard reports. Keke will also be the youngest host since Miley Cyrus. In recent years, the VMA’s have gone without a host. 

Keke shared the excitement via Instagram. Take a look:

Due to the pandemic, the award show will look different this year. The original plan was to have the award show at the Barclays with a limited audience. It’s still set to take place in New York City, but according to Deadline, the show will be outside in various NYC boroughs, with limited to no audience. 

Notable performances by Doja Cat. Eminem ft. Juice Wrld “Godzilla,” Future ft. Drake “Life Is Good,” and The Weeknd “Binding Lights” are some of the nominations for video of the year. DaBaby, Megan Thee Stallion, Post Malone, and The Weeknd are some of the nominees for the best new artist. Doja Cat “Say So,” Roddy Ricch “The Box,” Post Malone “Circles” and Megan Thee Stallion “Savage” are some of the choices for song of the year. See the complete lists + vote

The VMA’s is set to air August 30 on MTV at 7 p.m. The show is produced by Bruce Gillmer and Jesse Ignjatovic. Barb Bialkowski serves as co-exec producer.
