Close friends of Black Rob have confirmed to HOT 97 that Black Rob passed away at 51 years old.
It’s not exactly clear what caused the former Bad Boy rapper’s death, but he dealt with serious health issues. Before DMX passed away on April 9, Black Rob spoke out from a hospital bed to show love to X. Rob also revealed that he was homeless and suffering from health issues, indicating he had four strokes and his kidney was failing. He was also on dialysis for his kidneys.
Some people called Diddy out for not stepping in to help Black Rob. However, Diddy did reach out and was trying to help.
Rappers like Styles P suggested the industry needs a union for rappers for situations like Black Rob. Our own TT Torrez, DJ Wallah, and King Louie talked about that on the latest episode of Hot Now and how we should protect our legends.
A fellow former Bad Boy crew member, Mario Winans spoke out online about Rob’s death. He said, “This hit my heart……. we will NEVER forget you brother! RIP BLACK ROB!” Diddy hasn’t spoken out yet, nor Black Rob’s family.
