LeBron James is another celebrity to get sued for posting their photograph.

The basketball star is being sued by a photographer named Steven Mitchell for using his photo without credit or payment. Mitchell is suing James and his companies, Uninterrupted Digital Ventures and LRMR Ventures, LLC.

James posted a picture of himself, taken by Mitchell on his Facebook, which caused Mitchell to file the suit. Mitchell is seeking $150,000 per copyright infringement. He also wants James to give him accounting profits he made from the FB post. Mitchell believes he’s entitled to all profits, income, or benefits James made from his “unlawful conduct.”

Reported on The Blast, Mitchell said:

This is an action for copyright infringement under Section 501 of the Copyright Act. This action arises out of Defendant’s unauthorized reproduction and public display of a copyrighted photograph of NBA basketball player Lebron James during a basketball game against the Miami Heat, owned and registered by Mitchell, a professional photographer.”

As of right now, James hasn’t responded to the situation. Other stars celebrities Jennifer, 50 Cent, Kholé Kardashian, have been sued for using photos of themselves and posting them online.
