2020 has had some unexpected twists and turns and this is one we are HAPPY about!

This is an exciting time for the cast of The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air. Just yesterday (September 10) they celebrated being on air for 30 years. They first aired on NBC back in 1990 and this was the first time we saw a hip hop artist star in a sitcom.

Last week we reported HBO Max will air the reunion episode from the classic show. It was taped yesterday and fans were EXTRA hyped seeing Will with BOTH “Aunt Vivs.” Janet Hubert played Aunt Viv for seasons one – three and Daphne Maxwell Reid was on it until it ended in season six. The reason for the switch is because, off-camera, Janet had issues with Will Smith. So fans were excited when Will shared the first behind the scenes pictures from being on set and it looks like Will and Janet are putting the past behind them. This is their first sit down in 27 years.

Will also confirmed that both of the Aunt Vivians will be on the reunion episode. Check out the social media reactions:

The reunion episode will reportedly air on Thanksgiving. Of course, the show will never be the same without James Avery, aka “Uncle Phil.”

In more exciting Fresh Prince news, Bel-Air, which is a dramatic reboot got picked up for two seasons on Peacock. While celebrating, Will also expressed that in the 30 years he’s been in the business, typically “new shows” don’t get picked up for two seasons.

“We have just officially closed the deal with Peacock with an unprecedented two-season-order from a pitch,. I’ve been in this business for thirty years and that does not happen. They ordered two full seasons of Bel-Air based on the quality of the pitch and the work that you guys have done. So I want to say congratulations. I am hyped.”

No release date for Bel-Air, as of right now, but it’s a reimagined version of the classic show and it takes a dramatic turn in the storyline. Will is still the main character but the plot focuses more on what it’s like being a Black man in America. Last year, director Morgan Cooper debuted the trailer, it went viral, Will connected with him and the rest is history (in the making).
