10 Healthy Foods To Boost Your Energy!

The cold season is here, and you may be feeling down like the weather.  You may think snacking, candy and caffeine will you give that midday boost. Here’s a list of some healthy alternatives, that will give you that boost that you’re looking for.

  1. Who doesn’t like fruit in the morning? Grab a Banana on your way out the door, and get your dose of fiber, vitamin B6 and potassium.
  2.  Another great breakfast food is oatmeal. A nice bowl of oatmeal for lunch or breakfast. It is high and fiber, and sure to boost your energy. Oatmeal takes long to digest, so if you have it for breakfast, you will have energy throughout the workday.
  3. If you’re in the mood for a quick snack, try to grab some almonds or pistachios. Pistachios are packed with protein, and almonds are have nutrients such as magnesium, and B vitamins which will convert the food and boost your energy.
  4. As we know, Green Leafy foods boost your energy. You can have a green smooth or a simple salad.
  5. Who doesn’t enjoy a PB&J? Well, Peanut butter without the jelly  is high in GOOD fats, and protein. You can have it on toast, crackers, or even celery.  
  6. Salmon is a great lunch or dinner food to have. It’s rich in Omega 3s which boost the brain. It’s also referred to as “brain food.” It helps lower blood pressure, and helps improve bad cholesterol.
  7.  Grab some Greek Yogurt, which is high in protein and sure to boost your energy.
  8. To pair with your salmon, try some brown rice. Brown rice (not white) is packed with fiber, vitamins, and minerals.
  9. Eggs are packed with protein- which we’ve learned, can give you the energy that you need. Especially in the morning.

Not drinking a healthy amount of water can lead to dehydration, which in fact can slow you down. Water can give you the boost of energy that you’re looking for.
