After days of being missing, it is being reported that former Dipset rapper’s daughter, Saniyya Dennis, has taken her own life. According to reports, officials say it appears that Saniyya has died by suicide. “It appears that this poor girl took her own life,” Erie County District Attorney John Flynn told reporters during a morning news conference.
Authorities have not yet located her body, yet they were able to reach that conclusion based on a timeline since she’s been missing. Reportedly, on April 24, District Attorney John Flynn said Dennis got into an argument with her boyfriend via the phone. After trying to contact him 59 times to no avail, she called another male friend in New York City and talked about killing herself, the DA said.
She stayed on the phone with her friend for several more hours before she told the friend that she reconsidered. About 11 p.m. ET, Dennis was seen leaving her dorm room at the SUNY Buffalo State College.
She was then captured on campus surveillance video leaving her dorm. She was said to have walked towards a garbage can on campus and threw away “personal items that would lead someone to believe that she was not returning to the dorm.” No word on what the personal items were.
Saniyya was reported missing by her parents on April 26th. Rapper 40 Cal spoke out about his daughter. “I feel awful for the parents,” he said. “As a father of five, this is difficult.”
He added, “There is a possibility that if we believe what happened happened, we may never find her body,” he said. “That’s a possibility.”
Please keep Saniyya’s friends and family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
