BBC is working on a documentary about Kanye West.

The project will center around his upcoming 2024 presidential campaign and Antisemitic rhetoric. Vibe reports it’ll be called; We Need to Talk About Kanye, narrated by award-winning journalist Mobeen Azhar, who previously worked on the U.K. broadcaster’s Battle for Britney doc, the report says.

In addition, the BBC documentary will also be accompanied by a podcast series called, The Kanye Story. It’ll feature eight episodes.

In 2022, MRC Entertainment was working on a Kanye project, but it didn’t launch. In a statement at the time, they said, “This morning, after discussion with our filmmakers and distribution partners, we made the decision not to proceed with any distribution for our recently completed documentary about Kanye West.” In addition,

“We cannot support any content that amplifies his platform. Kanye is a producer and sampler of music. Last week he sampled and remixed a classic tune that has charted for over 3,000 years — the lie that Jews are evil and conspire to control the world for their own gain.”

On the flip side, in 2022, Coodie & Chike released the Jeen-Yuhs documentary with Netflix. It got a lot of positive feedback; people fell in love with Kanye all over again. It also earned a nomination for Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Series at the 74th Primetime Emmy Awards.
