A$AP Rocky needs some time to deal with his legal situation.

A few months ago, A$AP was sued by his former friend, A$AP Relii, over an alleged November 2021 shooting. Rocky is asking the court to give him more time for the case in the latest update due to his hectic schedule.

Radar Online reports, Rocky claims he’s “extremely busy with his music career, touring, and his business ventures”. He needs additional time “before having to sit and be grilled about the alleged shooting.”

The Jiggy rapper was officially charged with assault with a firearm on August 15. He was arrested in April and was released on a $500,000 bond.

A$AP Relli claims Rocky allegedly “lured” him to an obscure location to discuss a dispute. Relli claims Rocky shot at him and struck him. He also says he suffered mental and emotional injuries.

Relli filed a civil suit and is seeking an undisclosed amount of money in damages. Rocky denies all allegations of wrongdoing, and his lawyer said this is an “extortion plot.” Rocky’s lawyer said,

“Rocky didn’t commit a crime. It was an extortion attempt by a former associate, who threatened to make false criminal accusations if Rocky didn’t pay him.”

Court documents obtained by the outlet reveal Rocky considers Relli a “former affiliate of the hip hop collective that he helped create and bring to prominence,

Rocky accused his ex-friend of bringing the lawsuit in hopes of extracting money from him following a ‘physical altercation that [Relli] instigated and perpetrated against [Rocky] and several others.’”

A judge hasn’t decided on the ruling; we’ll keep you updated.
