Aretha Franklin’s funeral has made its rounds in the media for a plethora of reasons…one being the amazing performances, the life and legacy that the Queen of Soul left the world, criticism of the eulogy, and more.

According to Aretha Franklin’s nephew, Vaughn Franklin who is speaking out on behalf of his family, they did not find the eulogy given by Rev. Jasper Williams to be respectful.

“He spoke for 50 minutes and at no time did he properly eulogize her,” said Vaughn Franklin.

Vaughn also says that this eulogy caught the family off guard: “caught the entire family off guard. It has been very, very distasteful.”

Rev. Jasper Williams responded to the Franklin family criticism and apologized for how he made them FEEL: I understand it. I regret it. But I’m sorry they feel that way.
