It’s been one month since the tragedy at Travis Scott’s Astroworld Festival.
Since the incident on November 5, ten people died following the chaos at the concert in Houston, Texas. In the latest update, Travis wants to dismiss the lawsuits against him before fighting them in court.
As reported on TMZ, Travis and his legal team deny claims by plaintiff Jessie Garcia, who’s alleging he was in the crowd at the festival. Travis wants a judge to dismiss the lawsuits against him and his company (Jack Enterprises) and his foundation/label (Cactus Jack). TMZ points out, “Travis is issuing a ‘general denial,’ which is a legal term in civil suits that allows one to submit one blanket response to all the allegations against them.”
Travis doesn’t want to be held responsible for any of the deaths. The publication also says Travis plans to issue a general denial for every civil suit against him. The court has yet to rule.
On November 6, Travis issued an apology and released a video. Travis is caught up in 100 lawsuits; Drake was also named in one of the suits. He also spoke about the horrible incident and gave prayers for the victims. Travis vowed to pay for the funerals of the victims. In addition, offer mental health services for anyone impacted by the event. Travis offered to cover funeral costs to the victims, but they rejected his offer.
