Dave Chappelle returned back to Saturday Night Live (SNL) over the weekend as the host for the third time of his career.

The comedian opened with a 15-minute monologue that tackled Ye’s antisemtitic, Hershel Walker, and Donald Trump’s political appeal. Chappelle walked on stage, opened a small card, and said, “‘I denounce antisemitism in all its forms. And I stand with my friends in the Jewish community,” then looked up and said: “And that, Kanye, is how you buy yourself some time.”

Chapelle was later joined by musical guest ‘Black Star‘, the hip-hop duo formed in 1997 featuring Talib Kweli and Mos Def. The group performed two songs, “So be it” and “The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing” from their sophomore album No Fear of Time . The nine track album, produced entirely by Madlib, was released in May of this year. After decades of releasing tracks on compilations and digital singles, No Fear of Time, acts as the Brooklyn duo’s first full length release in 24 years.

Outside of ‘SNL”, Chapelle and the ‘Black Star’ members have a thought-provoking podcast, “The Midnight Miracle” that offers a glimpse into the lives of Chappelle, Yasiin Bey, and Talib Kweli.
