Brooklyn Shooting Suspect In Custody.
Yesterday morning around 8:30am, ten people were shot at the 36th Street subway station in the Sunset Park neighborhood of Brooklyn. According to NBC News, Frank James who was identified as a person of interest in relation to the attack by the NYPD is “believed to be in custody in Manhattan.”
NBC News notes that “a man matching James description” was apprehended near St. Marks and First Avenue in East Village. According to law enforcement, James was connected to both a U-Haul left along the N-line as well as a gun recovered at the scene.
Soon after the attacks James was identified as a potential suspect, but just 24 hours after the shooting – images of Frank James entering the subway system in a construction vest with heavy baggage had emerged.

Frank James is a 62 year old man with an extensive criminal record, according to city officials the gun used in the attack was 9mm Glock purchased in Ohio. He deployed smoke bombs during the shooting and fired over 30 times.
According to ABC7, recovered on the scene of the crime was “a 9mm Glock semi-automatic handgun, three extended magazines, a hatchet, gasoline, four smoke grenades (two detonated and two undetonated) and bag of consumer grade fireworks.”
