Cardi B had a pretty big night at the MTV Video Music Awards last night (Aug 28).

After opening up the preshow by performing her hit single “Bodak Yellow,” she made headlines with her candid support of former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick and his stand against oppression on live television.

“Colin Kaepernick long as you kneeling for us we gonna be standing for you! Oww! That’s right I said it,” she said during her comments on the broadcast.

Kaepernick is still without a job in the NFL, but is continuing his efforts in his mission against oppression. He continues to donate money to different charities due to his $1,000,000 pledge, most recently donating $30,000 to J. Cole’s Dreamville Foundation.

Some of the talk surrounding the comments is due to her near wardrobe malfunction while making the comments.
