The New York Giants are cleaning house!

Two popular players are now entering the free agent pool, after the team decided to release them days before the free agency period begins.

After being injured much of the 2015 season, Cruz returned to the team on a lowered salary which brought him from $7.9 million to $1.3 million.

He had 586 yards and one touchdown this past season. He would have counted for $9.4 million against the salary cap this season.

Meanwhile, Rashad Jennings joined the Giants in 2014 in hopes he would answer their problems at running back. While having modest success, he was never the workhorse they were expecting due to injuries, and he averaged 3.3 yards per carry and three touchdowns.

There will be some talented running backs in the free agent pool this season, so the Giants are primed to make some big moves this offseason for the second year in a row.
