Harlem rapper Dave East ran into an unwanted situation with the law earlier this morning (May 22).

According to sources, Dave East was in the backseat of an SUV that failed to signal a turn and the NYPD pulled them over. Authorities found over half a dozen bags of marijuana in the vehicle. The driver was compliant and didn’t receive any tickets, however, Dave East and another passenger “became combative after they were asked to show their identifications,” NBC reports.

A video of the incident was posted to Dave East’s Instagram. In the video, you can see the Survival rapper being cuffed by two officers and they proceeded to take him to the 114th police station. Only one cop was wearing a mask. You can also hear a group of frustrated people asking the officers why are they locking the rapper up and accused them of harassment.

Dave East and the other passenger got cited two summons for criminal possession of marijuana and disorderly conduct. They were later released.

In Dave East’s caption, he wrote,

“REST IN PARADISE SHOOTER S** DONT STOP F*** NYPD TILL I SEE U AGAIN”
