Last year, T.I. set the internet on fire following some comments he made on a podcast.
During a conversation on the Ladies Like Us podcast, the rapper spoke on how he handles conversations about sex with his children. He admits to accompanying his 18-year-old daughter Deyjah to the gynecologist to make sure her “hymen” is “intact” therefore ensuring him she was still a virgin.
“So we’ll go and sit down and the doctor will come and talk and the doctor’s maintaining a high level of professionalism,” he said. “He’s like, ‘You know sir, I have to, in order to share information’… I’m like, ‘Deyjah they want you to sign this so we can share information. Is there anything you wouldn’t want me to know? Oh, ok. See doc, no problem.’”
A year later, Deyjah is finally addressing the controversy. In the new trailer to T.I. & Tiny: Friends & Family Hustle when asked about the comments, Deyjah mentions, “after all of this, it’s changed, honestly.” Tiny added, “Tip has a way of taking things a little too far.” T.I. seemingly gets defensive as he can be heard saying, “aint nobody gonna tell me how to raise my children.”
