Diddy got his brand back!

As reported on news sources, the mogul bought his clothing line, Sean John, back out of bankruptcy. TMZ reports he purchased it for $7.5 million cash during a “bidding war.”

Diddy told the publication, “I launched Sean John in 1998 with the goal of building a premium brand that shattered tradition and introduced Hip Hop to high-fashion on a global scale.”

Diddy unveiled the clothing line in 1998 at a Las Vegas trade show. At the time, Puffy was still emerging in the music industry. Sean John clothing quickly became a staple in hip hop culture. Although it was branded as streetwear, it still gave a luxurious, high-end feel. Page Six reports in 2004, Diddy won a CFDA Award for Men’s Designer of the Year for the brand.
